For textbooks, you can donate to NTUC where they will give out the books to less privileged children who need it. Can drop them off at any NTUC branch.

There'll normally be notices for collection dates after SA2... some time in Nov/ Dec.

If you are near Bishan, you can donate to :

Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery
88 Bright Hill Road. Singapore 574117

There’s a collection area near the open air car park. Volunteers will sort the donated items n those that can be sold will be displayed at the second hand shop “The Gratitude Shop” in the temple. All proceeds will go to the running of the temple.

NTUC FairPrice Share-A-Textbook 2017 programme is back for this year.

You can drop off your old textbooks at selected stores for sorting and distribution to needy students. I've been doing that for the past few years rather than throw and the karang guni man probably just sends them for recycling anyway. At least this way, they are actually put to use.

Collection dates are from 15 Nov – 3 Dec.
