Hi mabelboey, I agree with you because my 1st n 2nd kids went for group tuitions before and results were better as compared to private tuition now. Since one in S4 n the other is S2 so perhaps will be good to switch back to group tuitions

I also find school generally putting much thoughts in the syllabus and teaching. Private teaching usually made us buy assessment books. I go to schools for all my classes- music, tuition, swimming.

How does enrichment help a child academically? Is this a trick question? Enrichment refers to music, sports, art etc right? Academic refers to results right? Certainly tuition (private or not) prepares child for exam doesn't it?

Enrichment does helps in a student's development and that itself may lead to better grades instead of constant piling of tuition. Views?

I personally feel that enrichment classes are more effective when it comes to languages as the students can communicate with one another in the language (eg, English). This can help them to improve in terms of speaking the language. Also, it is better to have some peer support so that the kids won't feel so stressed out. Hmm but it also depends, if my child is really weak (and lagging) in the subject, I would send him to a private tuition so that he can catch up.

I commend The Learning Lab. The topics are covered before they are taught in school and the lesson materials for each subject are engaging interest in learning different topics. Through this, The Learning Lab was able to captivate my son's interest in subjects and now they have a very strong foundation in learning different matter.

We decided to send our daughter to The Learning Lab because we know that TLL has a caring and nurturing environment. We know for a fact that this is a place to foster her creativity, exploration, and independence. There's a low teacher-student ratio which means the teacher can focus on them individually. Our daughter mentioned that their class is not boring and she enjoys it a lot, they have time to play and learn at the same time.

I have been reading this thread for quite sometime before I make my decision on where should I enroll my child. I am confident that upon reading the comments here I saw a lot of good reviews about The Learning Lab. Aside from all the positive reviews I have read here and from other parents' forum, what I like most about is that TLL is accessible and easy to find in Tampines Mall. I am looking forward that our child would benefit from our decision of having them as our partner.
