Show photos to market my work

Post by ngl2010 » Tue Jan 08, 2019 8:49 pm

I've been out of touch of formal working world for many years.

If I want to contact somebody via email to market my work and I need to show my work through a lot of photos, how can I show the photos to the person short of creating a website? The photo files are big. And I don't want to make the person worry that they are opening virus files if I give them a zipped file.

:thankyou:

The best answer... a website. Sorry, there's no way around it if you want to be professional about it. I mean you could send a zip file or use one of those share thingy like dropbox but it will probably cost you 20 to 50% off the fees you charged

Besides, there's really very little excuse in not being able to do up a simple portfolio website in a day. You can pick from hundreds of well designed portfolio template from Wix or Wordpress. I'm not sure what kind of work you need to market, but if you are involved in the creative space, Format would be a better alternative.

Maybe upload the downsized versions to Flickr then send them the link.

Alternatively, upload the downsized versions to Flickr then send them the link.
I would recommend the following over Flickr:
1. Pixpa
2. SmugMug (they are the owners of Flickr)
3. Zenfolio

They also serve as quasi-portfolio website, so really no excuse for not 'creating' a website.

I use Dropbox to share photos but I am not sure if it changes the photo?
