Help! Plse recommend good primary school near Hume Avenue
Hi hi Everyone, can someone plse help me.
I hv a gfren based in Bkk. Her DS will be going to P1 next yr. She is staying at Hume Avenue & asked me to help find a good primary sch near her place (within 1km) so no balloting is needed. Both her hub & her are not schooled in S'pore.
As I don't stayed that area, I wld like to call upon members to help out.
Thanks alot.

Primary school
Hi CookiesMonster,
My parents stay at Hume Avenue. From what I know, there isn't a primary school within 1km here.
Pei Hwa is under 1-2km...balloting required for those staying within 1-2km last year. Bukit Timah Primary School is also nearby and should not be a problem getting in.
Will your gf be registering her son in S'pore embassy in BKK or coming back SG ?

but if the child is a girl, can check out CHIJ.
can also go to Onemap to check out if Keming is within 1-2km.
again, what is define as good? if you considering popular schools, see if your friend can get into St Anthony (at Bukit Gombak) or Pei Hwa based on Phase 2B church affiliations.
No worries
No prob...so happens I am online and staying around here.CookiesMonster wrote:Hi Janet,
Tks for the prompt reply. She will be flying back to register cos seriously our embassy in Bkk is
My gf is coming back to register her daughter for P1 too...after S'pore embassy has processed her baby daughter's passport.
Schools
jedamum,
Cookie Monster's friend has a son...so CHIJ is out.
Keming is within 1-2km and balloting is required last year for 1-2km.
For Princess Elizabeth and St Anthony, balloting required for those staying within 1km.
St Anthony is a good choice, esp for boys because St Anthony's is affiliated to SJI sec.

Re: Schools
i know...will be giving it a shot for ds2's P1 registration a few years later (despite ds1 is in another sch) cos it is just <10min walk from my new place!!!janet_lee88 wrote: St Anthony is a good choice, esp for boys because St Anthony's is affiliated to SJI sec.
Re: Schools
so basically cookie monster's friend has not much choice of 'good' schools cos Hume Ave is quite far from any pri schools in the first place.janet_lee88 wrote:jedamum,

can consider Lian Hua Primary/Bukit Timah Primary as they are the next few 'more popular' ones beside the usual popular Pei Hwa, BPPS, Keming, PEPS, SAPS.
2 yrs back when i was registering my ds1 at LPS, there was a parent staying at Hume Ave before me registering too; they had initially submitted their form to Dazhong Pri Sch but made a last min withdrawal over the phone and registered at LPS after having a walkabout at LPS compound prior to the registration.
