PSLE 2019 was solid hard (difficult) for Science and Maths. Those pupils graduated in 2019 are in Sec 2 now. I think they will laugh to see the easy questions for subsequent years.

PSLE 2020 questions for Maths and Science are simpler. Just go Popular bookshop to flip the 3 years series to see the standard of the questions tested. I think PSLE 2021 is equal simple like 2020 due to Covid19.

Wow, same as last year. For 2022 PSLE, 2 of 3 prior year papers will be not so good (for Math and Science)...

Whether the papers are difficult or easy, the game is still the same. A) Do as well as you can and B) hope you do well enough relative to others that your name is called before the schools you are targeting are full.

In prior years under t-score, hard or easy papers mattered even less as t-score was by definition relative to others. Under AL, the grade is absolute, and (on the margin) influenced by hard or easy papers. But the S1 posting system is still a game of relativity.

For all the talk about how easy the 2020 PSLE papers were, the simulations did not spit out any AL 5 schools or an abundance of AL 6 schools (only 3 such schools). So at least last year the tests still produced a reasonable distribution/spread of scores (or at least it seems that way to me).

It is also possible that the 2021 Math/Science papers will be more difficult than the corresponding 2020 papers, even with certain topics removed again. One can crank up the difficulty of the questions for the topics that remain if they feel 2020 swung too far in the opposite direction of 2019.

Agreed with SG_KP1 that the S1 posting system is still a game of relativity. For all students taking PSLE this year, just work hard and do as well as you can. With CLT remove for Science & Math, it is time to focus on practice paper.
Timed practice is very important especially in exam stress. You will need to get the "hang" of it & remember to move on if the questions are too difficult for you. It is always best to attempt all questions than to leave 3 questions behind as it will mean one AL grade downwards.

Wonder if there's any mummy left their job to prep their child. Now is june and it's seems abit late to do so but having a child who is a wild card and not discipline in doing revision, I'm getting a little paranoid.

there are many, I know a few who took leave prior to the PSLE to care for their child. Prep also means guiding the child to have sufficient rest and play, food.. etc

The new PSLE AL system grades one's child on the basis of his/her individual performance in subjects, regardless of how their peers have done. Your lead generation initiative is moving people away from MOE's intended objective.

Yes, this is something our team has thought about and wrestled with.

Our goal is to provide transparency on where a child is weak at prior to taking a national level examination. Having gone through the system ourselves, we believe it’s beneficial to help parents know where their child stands so that they can take targeted action!

Coming from different schools, we can see how some children are better prepared than others. We understand that every school should be equal and would like to help bridge any gaps while MOE takes steps to ensure all students have access to the same quality/rigour in preparation for national level exams!

If every child can achieve the same AL, great! The data should also reflect that - granting parents a peace of mind.

I feel that the AL system is pretty bad for now. Like probably an estimated 1250 people will get the same AL as me. Does this mean way more fighting into Secondary Schools? Especially the AL6. I know that for certain the wide range of AL6 will not affect me as my standard is around AL2, but to other "average" people, it is super unfair. O M G how can the MOE make a fail group with a low 'B' grade? It's just so so wrong. I am just afraid that if this keeps up, I would really have to demoralize my whole well-being and wreck my self-esteem to a negative just so I can get an AL4 + Distinction. This system just makes me cry so hard and feels like the world is tumbling upon me. Sad.
