Italy - good and reasonably priced hotels

School terms keep kids in school and parents sane. Holidays can be boring to kids if they are left alone. Discuss vacation ideas and how to make good use of the free time for both children and adults.

Oh I see ... sounds good ! Will start doing more research . Thanks !
Look into open-jaw flight tickets, eg. fly into Venice & fly out from Rome; in between the major cities, ie. Venice-Florence-Rome travel by very accessible & convenient train service.

Depending on how much time there is & what are the must-sees for you, look into day trips or stopovers from / in between the major cities. Lots of suggested Itineraries online, eg. https://www.earthtrekkers.com/15-best-p ... sit-italy/
Thanks for the tip!

Have you ever thought about using a service called Couchsurfing? You can find there a place to stay for free, and ut's a great way to meet local people and even become friends. It's a also great for the exchange of traditions and other things.
Would be traveling with kids , think that’s not suitable for us. Thanks ! Would appreciate any apartment recommendations though!

Has anyone travelled to Rome recently? Any interesting places in the vicinity of Rome other than the standard ones? We are visiting Rome in Nov for 2 weeks. We've been there a few times over the years, and seen the main tourist sights (Vatican, Forum, Colosseum, etc), so looking for other things to see. We're already planning to visit Pompeii and Ostia Antica for a dose of ruins. We're not diners or shoppers.
