Italy - good and reasonably priced hotels

School terms keep kids in school and parents sane. Holidays can be boring to kids if they are left alone. Discuss vacation ideas and how to make good use of the free time for both children and adults.

Up till today, I still enjoy visiting sights, more than lazing on a beach lol :) I haven't reached the selfie-tourist stage of life yet lol. Much as I enjoy shopping, I don't shop during trips as I dread lugging goods home.
I try to strike a balance between just lounging and relaxing (or go somewhere nearer and cheaper for that kind of holiday) and ticking off a long list of places to see. I haven't mastered selfies yet, and my kids just shake their heads at me.

I think floppy's PSA has fallen on deaf ears. Tough days for an aspiring poet :rotflmao:

Has anyone travelled to Rome recently? Any interesting places in the vicinity of Rome other than the standard ones?

Interesting! But not for my family - no-one is that interested in food. We'll definitely go for some walks, but will try to do it for free (cheapskates).
