## Crescent Girls' School

Having survived PSLE. we still need to network with other parents with kids in the same Secondary school. While giving our teenagers their own space, we can update each other about the school.
Hi ! I'm a sec 1 and I have been in Crescent for 1 week now. The Orientation was Fun and the Campfire was Awesome !

for most schools, new sec 1 students will be allocated classes according to the ranking of their PSLE results, with the best classes being called 1A,1B,1C...etc, E1,E2,E3, or 1/1,1/2,1/3, etc.

what about Crescent Girls Sec School? How are the Sec 1 students grouped into? are they also allocated classes in alphabetical/numerical order, with the better classes being A,B,C... and 1,2,3... ???

Three letters of CGS are used to form 8 clases. 1C1,1C2,1C2 , 2G1, 2G2, 2G3, 3S1 & 3S2.

I don't think they group according to PSLE Score. Since CGS has only express stream, there is no need to do that. I guess it is random mix-match.

Sec3 onward , there will be reasignment of class based on subject selection & result... It is kind of streaming thaat happedns after P4 in Pri school.

### Re: Crescent Girls' School

As a mother of 2 Crescent alumni, I hope to add to the discussion about the school. The teachers in the school are hardworking and committed. The students do not need tuition because the teachers will try all possible methods to ensure that the students are adequately prepared for the 'O' levels. If you send your daughter to the schools, her 'O' level results will be the best that she can possibly get. The Mathematics and Science instruction give them a strong foundation so that they will be as good as the IP students when they get to J.C. However, the areas of improvement for Crescent girls are in critical thinking and having the confidence to speak up in class.

Contact12, that's good to know. Which JCs do many of the Crescent girls end up after their O levels?

Sorry, I do not know the breakdown of the JCs that the students go to. Those who take Higher Chinese tend to go to RI (JC) and HI but I guess that most go to NJC, ACJC and SAJC.
