Walkies have limited range. Also those China-made handphones are cheap and work well with phone cards. Only problem is having to top up the phone cards every 6 months. Leave it in your car and it can double up as your emergency phone in case you left your phone somewhere. Anyway... those were my considerations.super_dad wrote:Well...I can leave her anywhere now. But still, don't think a phone is a useful thing.
For such purposes (to contact the child), maybe a walkie would be better.
Really ah? So sad. I think Shiro is local company. Should support Singapore companies mah. I have a couple of Shiro DECT phones that are Skype compatible for almost a year now. Still works great, except my rechargeable batteries seem to die pretty quickly nowadays.super_dad wrote:btw...don't get the shiro ones. Downright lousy. Used a couple times, kaput.
I suppose that MAYBE in Secondary school, I will probably get her a mobile.
That said, I won't touch an Akira product with a 10 foot pole, unless it is something so geeky that no other company would produce it.
