Her book is well written and in her usual nurturing and kawan-kawan friendly style. Well worth a good read!!
Ditto for me. ie. Not paid to do an advertisement for Chen, but...

I received the book yesterday night and IT WAS A WONDERFUL read!!! I'm only at chapter 3, as there is a lot of good stuff inside that you would want to savour slowly. The words are simple, but the ideas, profound. Chen has taken great pains to put in layman-speak what it took eminent psychologists years to figure out. I see my own situation reflected in a number of the anecdotes in the book. I think this book is a great starting point for turning my relationship with DS1 around. So, if anyone is reading this post and wants resources to deal with their kids, do consider checking out Chen's website and the book!

Hi,

I am so motivated that I wanna get hold of the book soonest.
Just checking, if I opt for self collect, where do I collect from?

Thank you for penning the summary of what it is needed to raise our kiddos' EQ without hurting the wallets.

Self-collection from Sembawang. Eh? book is not for raising EQ leh... Before you buy it, you may wanna go to the website (http://www.petunialee.blogspot.co.il/p/book.html) and browse the uploaded chapters? I wouldn't want you to order the book and be disapointed because it was not quite what you expected?

But tutor will not be with my son all the time. Wondering how to get/motivate him to do his work after school by himself as I will only be home in the evening.
Maybe you want to send him to a motivation camp or workshop conducted by Adam Khoo, Ernest Wong, Mind Champ or MindEdge.
Is it useful? He went to Adam Khoo before but things seem the same. He's just lack of motivation by himself. Needs to be pushed or nagged at. :slapshead:

She told her hubby that the son will wake up when he is being posted to normal stream. Both his parents work in the day & he spends most of his time playing computer games & watching TV.
Yeah! My son also slack a lot. But I did constantly nagged at him after work and he got Math and Science tuition so his results are still ok. But sometimes it gets so tiring and frustrating. Like after work still needs to check on his school work/home work. Then also need to cook dinner. No time for ourselves.

How about eating out or home delivery to save your cooking & washing time. Save the cooking for weekend in order not to burn yourself out. You need time to relax after a hard day work.

Hi... if you ordered via Paypal, there should be an auto-confirmation. Did you not receive the auto-confirmation? We get about 7 to 15 orders a day so I won't be able to tell which order you are unless I have the name with which you submitted the order?

Can you let me know the email that you ordered with?

Digressing a bit... I am getting a little fed up with having to sit on the floor and pack books ... and then walking to the mailbox with my market trolley. I do have some help but I also have to do my bit of manual labour. Grrrrrrrr... Can someone pleeeeeeeeez help suggest ideas (contacts) to get rid of this part of my job scope?

If you have any contacts or leads for book distribution and logistics, please PM me? Thanks!!

Hi... your order was shipped at 8pm on Friday 20th July 2012. Do watch for it in the mail. An auto-respond email was sent to you upon payment by Paypal. A second email informing you of when we mailed the book was generated at 9pm on Friday 20th July 2012.

If you have received neither email, you may wanna check junk mail and allow emails from our email accounts. This is because we are in the process of writing up articles on
(1) Teen Motivation (see example of such an article here - http://www.petunialee.blogspot.sg/2012/ ... ation.html)
(2) Practical Case Notes
... that can only be accessed via invitation and password. We will be sending out the passwords once the system is up. You will miss our email if it gets routed to JUNK.

The book was written for Child Motivation. Due to particularities inherent in the adolescent psyche, some Child motivation strategies need to be adapted... and others are not included in the book. The series of articles will serve to help parents interested in Teen Motivation.

Practical case notes are descriptions of actual cases I have seen and serve as practical illustrations of how and when to apply certain strategies.

Thanks for ordering the book! :thankyou:
