Haha, janet, the surprising thing is I have a headache too thought no tension.

All P6 parents!
Step 1:
Inhale deeply, expanding your abdomen. Exhale slowly through your mouth . Feel your tension and anxiety fading away.
Step 2: Do step 1

Be on an infinite loop. :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Folks,

As a parent of two secondary school children who already cleared PSLE few years ago, my sincere suggestion and request to please heed to what our Government is trying to do and do not post PSLE top scores here (with all due respect to kiasuparents.com).

Allow me to share my own experience. My both children did very well in their PSLE exams, they both I reckon are in top 2 / 3% of their cohort, are in top school. So as a parent naturally I was happy and proud when my two children's PSLE scores came out.

However, I realized that it was not quite right on my part to share my children's PSLE scores with my friends - as they make them feel bad about their own children. I realized this much later and I really feel bad about it myself.

In fact, I remember clearly that when we went to school to collect PSLE results, I saw number of children cry when their results didn't match their expectations and they felt let down. In the joy of my own children's success, I didn't realize implication of this at that time but later on I realize - it is so cruel and unnecessary for children at the tender age of 12.

We all ought to love our children, motivate them to do well but at the same time let's not subject them to stress at such young.

No other developed country in the world has such a stratification of children with high stake national public exam at the age of 12.

So, please - I can very well understand parent's anxiety etc. - but please refrain from disclosing top PSLE results.

Our children's well being and their development depends on many more factors - not just PSLE results.

Thank you.

Agree with you. For top students, whether 272, 282 or 292, his or she will go into the dream school, which is more important. We shall not focus too much on the exact number. Let children have some space to build their characters, particularly the future scholars who will hold high positions in the society and affect people's life.
