My hands are sensitive to dishwashing liquid so I detest putting on gloves just to wash a few dishes. I also think that I use more water when I manually wash my dishes. Easily more than 7 liters for the 3 meals.

With sensitive skin, using a dishwasher or dishdrawer makes sense

I recently stopped using Joy, felt it does not clean as effective as before.
Anyone has the same thought?
Then I switched to Mama Royal, but hated the dispensing top.
Today I started using UIC Natural with white tea.
The fragrance is fantastic.

I use UIC lime all the times. It is the only dishwashing liquid that suitable fr my skin. I find it is easier to rinse well compared to other brands.

I have a dishwasher but sometimes I prefer to wash by hand. Some small kitchenwares need to be cleaned with caution so that all the nooks and crannies are squeaky clean as well. For hand wash, I have some dish scrubber for that job. Antibacterial kitchen scrubber would be my first choice. Also, I will wear gloves before washing.

I have recently purchased a standalone dishwasher from Qoo10 Mega Discount store. I placed it next to my washing machine and installed Y tap to share water with washing machine. It has 8 plates setting but is good enough for a family of 4. I can accumulate 2 meals dishes to wash. I had tried putting in Airfryer tray and Rice cooker pot and it works. It can also wash bowls and small pans just need to place in but take up space. It cleans well and even old stains. Only occasionally if I did not place my utensils well then there may be some stains left. I wash intensive since I always maximise the dishwasher. I use Ecocover from iherb and its cheapest.

Sounds like it is a table-top model. You can try "quick wash" using the clean glasses setting. Only 45mins.

We used to hv a Bosch dishwasher but hardlyvuse it coz we don't feel it's cleaner than hand cleaned ones.

I never leave dishes unclesned overnite. For one, for particles attracts ants & other insects. Secondly, uncleared dushes dries out & becomes harder to scrub out. Very unhygienic overtime, attracting growth of bacteria & moulds.

Make sure you rinse your dirty plates first before you put them inside the dishwasher. If the dishes are pretty clean because already rinsed, i guess it is ok to leave them in the dishwasher for a few days. My longest was only 2 days because my dishwasher capacity is only half and we use plenty of dishes.

I usually stack the dirty dishes in the sink. As I and my family members wash our hands in the sink, it soaks the dirty dishes. Once the dirt on the plates loosened, I remove the dirt and put the plates in the dishwasher. This way, no additional water is used to rinse the dishes before loading them to the dishwasher.

If you don't remove the dirt on the plates, they will dry up and the dishwasher may not be able to clean it properly. Same as manual hand washing, If the dirt is hardened, we also have to scrub very hard or use metal wire, right?

I usually put my rinsed dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Not the clean dishes. You should decide what works for you.

Don't close the dishwasher. Mould is easily grow inside since it is humid inside. My dishwasher has Eco mode. Since the Eco mode skip the heating plates step, mould grew inside my dishwasher after a few months. After I got rid of the molds, I use Normal mode. No more molds in the dishwasher after I use Normal mode. I guess the heat kills the molds.

One tip. Don't buy dishwasher detergent/tablets in the supermarket here. It is a rip off. You should buy from iHerb. They have free shipping if you buy above certain amount (is it US$40? I can't remember). Also, what is the size of your dishwasher? My dishwasher is half of the normal size. In the beginning, I used 1 tablet. Later on, I found that half tablet is actually cleaner.

We like our dishwasher a lot. Washing dishes became a breeze. DH wondered why we didn't buy it earlier, right after we let go our maid. Enjoy using your dishwasher! :imcool:
