Hi raghupavithra,

One possible method:

Day 1:

Tulips → (100 Boxes or 100 units or) 100 u

Roses → 100 u + 120

Day 2:

Tulips → 130 u

Roses → 80 u + 96

130 u + 80 u + 96 → 726

210 u → 726 - 96

1 u →

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Q1 : There were thrice as many beads in Container A than Container B. Container C contains half as many beads as Container B. There were 1206 beads in all the 3 containers. Marcus transferred some marbles from Container A to Container C. As a result, the ratio of the number of beads in Container C to the total number of beads in Container A and B became 5 : 4. How many beads did Marcus transfer from Container A to Container C ?

Q2 : A rectangular tank 28 cm by 15 cm by 30 cm is 7/10 filled with water. Some water from the tank is poured away. The volume of water left in the tank is 1/3 of its capacity when completely filled. What is the decrease in height of the water level in the tank ?

Appreciate your help. Thank you in advance !

At first:

A → 6 u

B → 2 u

C → 1 u

Total → 9 u → 1206 beads

After the transfer:

A → 2 u

B → 2 u

C → 5 u

Total → 9 u → 1206 beads

Can you continue from here?

Hope this helps

Cheers

Hi, would appreciate if someone can help with this question. Thanks in advance.

Mr. Tan had some $5 and $10 notes. The ratio of the number of $5 notes to the number of $10 notes was 1:4. He exchanged twelve pieces of $10 notes for $5 notes. The ratio of $5 notes to $10 notes then became 1:2.

How much money did Mr. Tan have?
