2019 PSLE Discussions and Strategies (Children born in 2007)

Children born in 2007 will be entering Primary 2 in 2015. There will be 5 years to go towards preparing for PSLE exam in 2019. Strengthening the basic foundation is very important in the lower primary levels. If these gaps are not filled up before they reached upper primary, the child will struggle along. The lower primary years will be a good time to cultivate good reading habits and the writing of letters and numbers legibly. Most often, marks are lost through carelessness due to writing numbers illegibly. Basic grammar such as agreement will cost a child to lose precious marks in Synthesis and Transformation. Cloze passage can only be improved through regular reading of challenging materials.

Let's share strategies and support one another along the way.

Primary 1 is indeed a honeymoon year. :please:

I was like, ' :yikes: 2018 thread not even created and 2019 is out!'
I know we are kiasu but don't stress the kids (and their parents) so soon.

Isn't it way too early? That's when DS supposed to be doing his o levels and I'm not even thinking of that.

And maybe there'll be major changes to the system?

:siam:

After next year I'd have 8 years (?) break before PSLE.
Don't wanna imagine what's in store.

2015 will be the first batch taking revised psle...there will be some modifications along the way...kids taking in 2016 may experience some difference :frustrated: 2019 is too far off. I dare not even think of daughter going to sec 1 in 2017 yet.

this batch (born 2007 : golden pigs) is 5th batch :
to test out new PSLE English format, implemented since 2015. (1st pioneering batch)
luckily not the first batch
instead of past 10 years series : we only have past 4 years series, to refer to.

pray that our batch still able to stick to the existing single T-score.

not going to be the pioneering batch of guinea pigs -
to test out the new system by Moe to abolish single T-score, replaced by the new banding of T-score, for entry into Secondary schools. :nailbite: :slapshead:
better bypass this changes
(not sure when Moe will implement : which 1st batch of guinea pigs affected ? )
