The above article has a few experts talking about why mega clusters formed at nursing homes and IMH.

A few experts said “not surprising”, “other countries also experienced same thing”, “more testing so more positive cases will surface” and “should not be a cause for alarm as the health services are prepared to handle this”.

I have fainting spells after reading these words from experts. If the experts already anticipated that such things would happen then why is the outcome not averted? Be proactive and not show foresight only after the event pls!

2 months ago I suggested something like send the vulnerable seniors to St John Island. Nurses and visitors need to be tested negative before they can enter the COVID-free island. Go think of something like this to save the seniors lah.

The experts should study and propose solutions to MTF earlier and not after all the nursing homes’ clusters started to blow up then give a summary.
Someone remind these experts, hindsight is 20/20.

98.7% had no or mild symptoms means those can discharge without need of oxygen, icu etc arh :yikes:  is interpretation correct?

Copy & paste fm moh covid updates..

'· Over the last 28 days, of the 90,203 infected individuals, 98.7% had no or mild symptoms, 0.9% required oxygen supplementation in the general ward, 0.1% were unstable and under close monitoring in the intensive care unit (ICU), 0.1% were critically ill and intubated in the ICU, and 0.2% has died.'

There was more than 400 cases for below 12yo increased from 200+ a day before..I m wondering where could this group comes from? If ART+ will be under HRP and not counted right? Under what circumstances this group need take PCR test and be counted in?

I guess it depends on whether there is some rule that requires kids who test positive to report to the authorities and go for a PCR test? If they are like adults who self-tested positive with ART, are not unwell, are staying at home, then they won't be counted.

As much as it pains me to say this, I think it is an inevitability that the virus will eventually infect everyone if the country wants to move on to endemic living. With all the current measures and restrictions already imposed, probably the last thing these vulnerable seniors is even more restrictions to ostensibly keep them alive. An vaccinated elderly in his 80s I know is really living his life to the fullest now, literally going out and dining out almost every single day. Asked why he didn't want to just hunker down at home to keep himself safe, he just shrugged it off and said that he is aware that he might die if he contract the virus, but then it is all in God's hand. Staying alive without living is the worse option for him.

For primary school, only need PCR if have symptoms.

Not sure about the preschoolers, whether ART+ must go KKH for checkup first. Based on my friends’ preschooler kids’ having recd HRWs, I know there are several cases in preschools all over Singapore (and 1-2 preschool clusters mentioned recently in the news).

For me, I am just prepared to lock down with kids at home if touch wood, anyone of us ART+.. other than that don't really know what should we do.

Thought read that they will give info on bigger clusters..but looks like more focus put in on those vulnerable groups? Probably again the focus is on icu ba.. still would appreciate more reports.

If we want to take booster shot, do we need to do ART first to ensure we are not covid positive at the time we take booster shot?
No need; there was no mention of this requirement.
I read somewhere, if someone is COVID positive and take COVID vaccine at the same time, complications may arise !!
It just means that the person gets a higher exposure, and the reaction will depend on the individual's reaction, I guess.

The main reasons that people who are infected are asked not to get a vaccine shot is that:
1) it's a waste of vaccine - they will have natural immunity from the infection, and the immunity from the infection will protect them for at least a few months. They may need a boost after a few months, and that would be the best time to get another shot.
2) it's a risk to the HEALTHCARE WORKERS AND OTHERS NEARBY (not the individual) - the infected person should be isolating so as not to infect others with the virus.

From the US CDC: People who have had a known COVID-19 exposure should not seek vaccination until their quarantine period has ended to avoid potentially exposing healthcare personnel and others during the vaccination visit.

HRW is warning? For those near confirmed cases? If Art+ is straight away HRP, I wonder why need the HRW warning & go for PCR..if all same, should just send msg ask the do ART test then HRP, no need PCR, no need count..

If ART+ say due to the 2 wkly Primary pupils routine test, then developed symptoms, do we still need to go do PCR? My 'guess' is probably no need, HRP till recovered ba.. so many things I m confused lol..

By now we should know what are the 'standard' medicine needed, I think..can 'donate' us the medicine in advance by maybe by collection at pharmacies at staggered timing with at least 1 year expiry date because we are supposed to get sooner or later.
