Singapore Schools Sports Council Colours Awards 2018

1.More than 8,700 students from secondary schools, junior colleges, and centralised institute will be awarded the Singapore Schools Sports Council (SSSC) Colours Awards this year. This is in recognition of their sporting achievements and display of good sporting character and values.

2. Into its 48th year, the SSSC Colours Awards 2018 will be presented to:

  1. 51 students from 22 schools, who will receive the SSSC Best Sportsboy Award and SSSC Best Sportsgirl Award;
  2. 443 students from 80 schools, who will receive the SSSC Colours Award (Distinction); and
  3. 8,288 students from 143 schools, who will receive the SSSC Colours Award.

3. The criteria for the awards are listed in Annex A.

4. The Best Sportsboy and Best Sportsgirl winners will receive their awards at the SSSC Colours Award Presentation on 21 September. They are listed in Annex B.

Closing of 2018 National School Games

5. The SSSC Colours Awards Presentation also marks the closing of the 2018 National School Games (NSG)1, which saw approximately 60,000 students taking part in nearly 30 different sports.

  1. NSG 2018 started on 10 January 2018. From January to August this year, students participated in 28 different sports and games competitions organised under the auspices of the Singapore Schools Sports Council and 21 sports under the Singapore Primary Schools Sports Council.
