Let h be the unknown side ST

this is also = height of triangle PRT ( they are parallel to each other)

Area of triangle PRT = (12×8) / 2 = 96 /2 = 48 (Sorry for earlier typo .. lol but I think you got the drift from my next 2 lines.)

Area of triangle PRT = (1/2)(16)h

8h = 48

h = 6

Hence ST is 6cm
