Question

Answer

Given Ian save 160, and his savings is 2/3 of total of Paul, Asher and Cody,

Total savings = 160 *5/2 = 400

Paul savings was 25% of total = 400 * 25% = 100

Total of Ian, Asher and Cody savings = 400 -100 = 300

300 -100 =200

So Paul’s savings was $200 less than the total of the other 3 boys.

Also take note that the condition given “ Asher’s savings was ½ of total savings of Ian and Cody” was not used in the solution as it is irrelevant in solving for answer.
