There are 345 students in the hall. The ratio of the number of boys who wear spectacles to the number of boys who do not wear spectacles is 3:2. The ratio of the number of girls who wear spectacles to the number of girls who do not wear spectacles is 4:1. There are 20 more girls than boys who wear spectacles. Answer

If there are 4u girls who wear spectacles, there are u girls who do not wear spectacles.

There are 4u – 20 boys who wear spectacles, and there are  2(4u – 20)/3 who do not wear spectacles.

So all of them add up to 345

4u + u + 5( 4u – 20 ) /3 = 345     multiply 3 on both sides

15u  + 20u – 100 = 345 * 3

35u – 100 = 1035

35u = 1135

u = 32.428 , no integer answer, probably some problem with the question.
