Question

Answer

(a) Dough used for 5 small pizzas is the same as 3 big pizzas, so if 3u kg  of dough is required to make a small pizza,  3u * 5/3 = 5u kg of dough is required  to make a big pizza

To make 10 small pizzas, (3u * 10) kg of dough is required.

(3u * 10)/ 5u = 6

So 6 large pizza can be made with the dough used to make 10 small pizzas.

(b) Given

10(3u) + 8 (5u) = 6.3

70u = 6.3

u = 0.09

To make the remaining 20  small pizzas and 27 large pizzas,

Dough required = 3u * 20 + 5u * 27    = 60u + 135u = 195u = 195 * 0.09 = 17.55 kg
