Question

Answer

(a) Truck started at 11.30am. 2.5 hours later, which is 2pm, motocycle started his journey.

So motocycle took 4 hours and 40 min to reach City Y ,

(b) Motocycle travelled at 36 km/h faster than the truck,

So in 4 hours and 40 min or 4 2/3 hours, the motocycle travelled additional distance of 36 * 14/3= 168km.

This was the distance travel by the truck in 2.5 hours.

Speed of the truck = 168/2.5 = 67.2 km/h

Speed of motocycle = 67.2 + 36 = 103.2 km/h
