(a) Firstly, the answer is not asking what is the fraction of boys in the cinema. So answer cannot be in fraction, it is asking for the NUMBER of boys in the cinema.

If there were 25u people in the cinema, 3/5 * 25u = 15u were adults and 10u were children.

1/4 of children were girls, so in total, there were 10u/5 = 2u girls and 8u boys.

Given 15u – 8u = 154

 7u = 154

u = 22

8u = 176

There were 176 boys in the cinema at first.

(b) There were 25u – 176 = 550 – 176 = 374 adults and girls in the hall.

Some boys left and 5/16 of the remaining were boys and 11/16 were adults and girls.

Number of boys remaining = 374/11 * 5= 170

176- 170 = 6

So 6 boys  left the cinema before movie end.
