Question

Answer

(a) If Mark had 24u fruits at first, he had 3* 24u/8 = 9u pears and 15u apples. He sold 2/3 of the apples or 2*15u/3 = 10u apples and left with  5u apples. Finally, he left with 24u/4 = 6u fruits. 6u – 5u = u pears were left

Pears that Mark sold = 9u – u = 8u

Fraction of pears that Mark sold = 8/24 = 1/3

(b) 8u = 128

24u = 384

Mark have 384 fruits at first.
