Let T be the cost of 1 table.

2C + T = 210 … (1)

C + 2T = 285
(1/2)C + T = 285/2 = 142.5 … (2)

So, (1)-(2):
2C – (1/2)C = 210 – 142.5 = 67.5
(3/2)C = 67.5
C = (2/3)67.5 = $45 #
