Question

Raju, Sam, and Tristan had 435$. Raju spent 4/5 of his money. Sam spent 2/3 of his money and Tristan spent 3/4 of his money. In the end, Raju has 55$ more than Sam. Tristan has $10 more than Sam. How much money Tristan has at first?

Answer

If Sam had $u in the end, he had  $3u in the beginning since he spent 2/3 of his money.

Raju had $ ( 55 + u)  in the end and he had $ 5( 55 + u ) in the beginning since he spent 4/5 of his money.

Tritan had $ ( 10 + u ) in the end and he had $ 4(10 + u ) in the beginning since he spent 1/4 of his money

3u + 5( u + 55) + 4 ( u + 10) = 435

3u + 5u + 275 + 4u + 40 = 435

12u = 120

u = 10

4(10 + u ) = 80

So Tritan had $80 at first.
