Question

Joyce has two milk bottles, P and Q. She filled one of the milk bottles with cold water and the other with hot water.

a)What would happen to the number of water droplets formed on the outer surface of Bottle P if it was changed to a bottle made of aluminum? Explain your answer.

Answer

The question is rather nebulous, and I don’t like it.

Aluminum is a good conductor of heat.

If P has cold water, then heat will be rapidly transferred from the heat outside to inside P, which will then cause more water droplets from the atmosphere to condense on the surface of P.

If P has hot water, the temperature difference between the atmosphere and P will not allow much condensation.
