Mr Tan helps to answer Q a. Radius is 49cm. Thank you.

Please help Q b. Thanks.

Answer

(a)

Radius = √2401 = 49 cm

(b) Let the small unshaded area on side of square  between P and Q be u cm².

Area of square – quarter circle = Q + u = R + u

Q = R = Area of square – Area of quarter circle – u

P = Area of square – quarter circle – 2u

So difference between sum of Q and R with P  is

Q+ R – P = 2(Area of square – quarter circle) – 2u – (Area of square – quarter circle – 2u )

= Area of square – quarter circle

= 49² – 22/7 ×49²/4

= 514.5 cm²
