need some guide on this question.

there were 63 fish in tank A and tank B.

Jason transferred 1/4 of fish in A to B.

Then, he transferred 2/7 of fish in B to A.

In the end , the ratio of fish in tank A to The ratio of fish in tank B is 11:10.

how many fish  were there in tank B at first?

In the end

A : B

11 : 10

 

Before the transfer from B to A

A : B

7 : 14

1 : 2

3 : 6

 

At first

A : B

4 : 5

 

9u = 63

1u = 7

5u = 35#

Thanks . It does help me a lot though I know that is working backwards . I got stuck on the second step.

At the end: A has 33 and B has 30 due to the ending ratio of 11:10 and a total of 63 fishes

 

before B transfers to A: B had 30/5*7=42. A had 63-42=21

 

Before A transferred to B: A had 21/3*4=28 so B had 63-28=35 

 

final ans: B had 35 fish at first
