Morning -> 2/5

Remain -> 5/5 – 2/5 = 3/5

Afternoon -> 1/6 x 3/5 = 1/10

Remain -> 3/5 – 1/10 = 5/10 = 1/2

1/2 = 170

2/2 = 340

Alternatively,

1 – 2/5 = 3/5 = 6/10 (remainder)
(1/6) x (3/5) =1/10 (afternoon)
2/5 = 4/10 (morning)
1 – (1/10) – (4/10) = 5/10 ——- 170

10/10 ——- 170 x 2 = 340
or

1/10 ——- 34
10/10 ——- 340

Ans : 340 pages.

MORNING          AFTERNOON         LEFT        TOTAL

2u                                                 3u                         5u

1                            5                   6

12u                           3u                          15u               30u

15u=170

1u=170/15=34/3

30u=34/3 x 30=340 (ANS)

The 1 unit may not be a whole number but the total would

be so,don’t stop if you find a remainder
