Some chairs are arranged in rows of 10 with none left over. When chairs were rearranged in rows of 8, there were 11 more rows and 4 chairs left over. How many chairs are there?

10 – 8 = 2 (difference in the number of chairs in each row of 10 and 8)

46 x 10 = 460
or
8 x (46 + 11) + 4 = 460
Ans : 460 chairs.
