The ratio of the number of girls in the Robotics Clubs to the number of girls in the Science Club is 8u : 2u = 4 : 1.

6u + 114 ——- 27p
3u ——- 4p
6u ——- 8p
27p – 8p = 19p ——- 114
1p ——- 114/19 = 6
9p ——- 9 x 6 = 54

Ans : (a) 4 : 1; (b) 54 girls.

In a way, this question has a common total problem. I can make both Robotic and science club share a common unit by making the Robotic club total as twice of Science club total.

Science Club => G : B : Total => 2 : 3 : 5

Robotic club total will be twice in total, i.e 5 X 2 = 10
Robotic Club => G : B : Total => 8 : 2 : 10

a) Girls in Robotic club : Girls Science club => 8 : 2 ##

b)
Before 38 girls tranferred, Science club ratio,
G : B = > 2 :3
Constant boy method
G : B => 8 : 12 Now this ratio share common units as the new ratio below, because 12 represent the boys is both ratio.

New ratio after transferred
G : B => 9 : 4 = > 27 : 12

8u + 38 = 27u  (number of girls in science club after transferred)
19u = 38
u = 2

Girls in science club in the end = 27u = 54 ###
