Box A : 5u
Box B : 5u – 12
Box C : 1u

1u ——- (5u – 12)/2
2u ——- 5u – 12
1u ——- 12/(5 – 2) = 4
5u x $1 ——- 5 x 4 x $1 = $20
(5u – 12) x $0.50 ——- 5 x 4 – 12 x $0.50 = $4

A:B:C=5u:5u-12:1u
C contains half that of B
therefore 2u = 5u-12
3u=12
1u=4
5u = 20;
5u-12 =8;
A has 20 $1 coins…. value =$20
B has 8 $50 cents coin…. value =$4

Box A has $16 more than box B
