# Question

Having doubts that 100% is  for sept or aug? So how do I tell my child to make the comparison and identify the actual 100%.

My understanding is 100% is aug while sept is 80% when making comparisons. Am I correct?

Please refer to my reply in brackets.

(‘This was a 20% decrease from the number in August’ means there was a 20% decrease from the 100% in August. Ask your child in which month were there more visitors to ensure his/her understanding of the question/sentence.)

The statement “This was a 20% decrease from the number in August” tells you that the comparison is made against the month of August, so August should be 100%.

Yes, you are correct.

80% -> 10000

100% -> 10000 ÷ 80 × 100 = 12500
