5R – 4G –> 235

1R + 1G –>92 ………x5

5R + 5G –> 460

9G –> 460 – 235

       = 225

1G –> 225÷9

       = 25

1R –> 92-25

       = 67

Total at first = 5R + 4G

                       = 5×67 + 4×25

                        = 435 (ans)

red : 5u
green : 4p

5u – 4p ——- 235
(5u – 4u) + (4p – 3p) = 1u + 1p ——- 92
4u + 4p ——- 368
5u + 4u = 9u ——- 235 + 368 = 603
1u ——- 603/9 = 67
1p ——- 92 – 67 = 25
5u + 4p ——- (5 x 67) + (4 x 25) = 435

Ans : 435 balloons.

This is a Simultaneous Equation question.

                 Red           Green       Total
Before  1 5 – 4 235
After 1 1 1 92
After × 4    4 4 368
1 + After 9 0 603

 9 red = 603

1 red = 603 ÷ 9 = 67

5 red = 67 × 5 = 335

Green = 335 – 235 = 100

Total   = 335 + 100 = 435
