Question

Rebecca bought some bags at $10 each and sold them at $19 each. Customers who bought 2 bags were given 1 bag free. She earned a profit of $925 and gave away 11 bags. How many customers only bought 1 bag?

Answer

22 x 19 – 33 x 10 = 88 (profit earned from selling 22 bags and giving away 11 bags)
925 – 88 = 837 (profit earned from selling bags singly)
19 – 10 = 9 (profit earned from selling each bag singly)
837/9 = 93

Ans : 93 customers.
