Question

Answer

This is a Before After question.

  Before  transfer   after
Muffin  4u + 63 4u + 63
Pies 1u + 46 1u + 46

(4u + 63)/ 3  = (1u + 46)/1

4u + 63 = 3u + 138

4u – 3u = 138 – 63

1u = 75

5u = 75 × 5 = 375

Hi,

It is (4u + 63) divided by 3.

Why? Because the last ratio says that is it 3 units.

So to equate with the other side as 1 unit, we must dovide it by 3.

In other words, we can multiply the other side by 3.

This is called cross multiplication.
