Source: Assesment

(a)
amount of money he spent on —
guppies : goldfish
2 : 3
4 : 6

angelfish : goldfish
5 : 6

guppies : angelfish : goldfish : total
4 : 5 : 6 : 15

45/15 = 3
3 x 4 = 12 (guppies)
3 x 5 = 15 (angelfish)
3 x 6 = 18 (goldfish)

(b)
12/0.8 = 15 (number of guppies bought)

number of fish bought —
angelfish : guppies
2 : 3
10 : 15

goldfish : angelfish
3 : 5
6 : 10

goldfish : angelfish : guppies
6 : 10 ; 15

(c)
15/10 = 1.50

Ans : (a) guppies — \$12, angelfish — \$15 and goldfish — \$18; (b) 6 goldfish and (c) \$1.50.

This is a Quantity Each Product question.

 R1 R2 Product Each Quantity Guppy 2u 4u = 12 0.8 15 Goldfish 3u 6u 6u = 18 10 Angle fish 5u 5u = 15 6 Total 15u = 45

a)

15u = 45

4u = 4/15 × 45 = 12

6u = 6/15 × 45 = 18

5u = 5/15 × 45 = 15

b)

12 ÷0.8 = 15

3u = 15

2u = 2/3 × 15 = 10

c)

Assume anglesfish : goldfish = 3 : 5

(Could be typing error)

5u = 10

3u = 3/5 × 10 = 6

15 ÷ 6 = 2.5
