This is a Before After question.

As Primary 3, we shall use the modal method.

In the end, (you draw the modal as follow)

chicken   3u

duck     1u

Comparison = 3u – 1u = 2u

Comparison = 96 + 26 = 122  (as you sell 20 ducks, the chicken is 20 more than the ducks)

2u = 122

1u = 122 ÷ 2 = 61

3u = 3 x 61 = 183 chickens

a) 3 times as many chicken as duck means chicken 3u and duck 1u.

b) 3 times more chicken than duck means chicken 4u and duck 1u.
