Question

Answer

Length of quadrant = π r2 = (3.14 x 2 x 2) / 4  cm2 = 3.14 cm

3/4 arc is same radius as the smaller quadrants (due to the rectangle)

Number of quarter arcs = 6

Area of the 6 small arcs = (6 * 3.14) cm = 18.84 cm2

Area of quarter arc of big circle = π r2 = (3.14 x 4 x 4) / 4 cm2 = 12.56 cm2

Area of rectangle = [(2+5+2) x 2] cm2 = 18 cm2

Total are = (18 + 12.56 + 18.84) = 49.4 cm2
