Question

Tom had 90 more marbles than Jerry at first. After Tom gave 105 marbles to Jerry, Jerry had 6 times as many marbles as Tom. Find the number of marbles Tom had at first.

Please help to solve.

Answer

At first —
Tom : 1u + 90
Jerry : 1u

After —
Tom : 1u + 90 – 105 = 1u – 15 ——-> 1p
Jerry : 1u + 105 ——-> 6p

6u – 90 ——- 6p
6u – 90 = 1u + 105
1u = (105 + 90)/(6 – 1) = 39
1u + 90 = 39 + 90 = 129

Ans : 129 marbles.
