1. Total ball 160. Total marble 120.
2. Basket A. Ball 40u. Marble 60u.
3. Use compliment method to find Basket B.

(160 – 40u) / 70 = (120 – 60u) / 30 ÷ 10
480 – 120u = 840 – 420u
420u – 120u = 840 – 480
300u = 360
1u = 360 ÷ 300 = 1.2
40u = 1.2 × 40 = 48
60u = 1.2 × 60 = 72
170 – 48 – 72 = 50 😊
Note
You may this method even there is a mixture of transfer, eg marble from A to B, and ball from B to A.
Similar problem, male and female in the hall and field, cakes and buns in tray A and tray B.
Remember constant total of Balls and constant total for marbles.
Total balls = 160
Total marble = 120
Finally
Basket A contains balls : marbles => 40u : 60u
Basket B contains balls : marbles => 70p : 30p
60u + 30p = 120 …….(1)
40u + 70p = 160
60u + 105p = 240 ……(2)
(2) – (1)
75p = 120
p = 1.6
Finally Basket B contain
Balls = 70p = 112
Marbles = 30p = 48
Balls transferred = 112 – 90 = 22 balls
Marbles transferred = 48 – 20 = 28 marbles
Altogether = 22 + 28 = 50 ###
