Question

Hi, please help to solve this question. Thanks.

Answer

LCM of 3 and 4 is 12.

Take Jason’s money in the beginning as 12u,

Basketball -> 4u (1/3 of his money)

Remainder -> 8u (2/3 of his money)

Badminton racket -> 3/4 x 8u -> 6u

Lunch -> $5

Amount left -> 8u – 6u – 5 = 2u – 5

This is 1/8 of his original amount,

2u – 5 -> 1/8 x12u

16u – 40 -> 12u

1u -> 10

Cost of badminton racket -> 6u -> 6 x 10 = $60
