Question

Answer

Three years ago, the father was 20 years older, now he is still 20 years older.

Hence,

Jason’s age = (42-20)/2 = 11
father’s age = 11 + 20 = 31

Assume after u years,

Jason will be 11 + u
father will be 31 + u

2 (11 + u ) = 31 + u
    22 + 2u = 31 + u

                u = 31 – 22

                u = 9
