Question

Answer

Suggested answer:

At last, no of sweets in:

Container A = 1 u

Container B = 2 u

Container C = 3 u

Container D = 4 u

Total = 10 u

At first, no of sweets in:

Container A = 1 u/2 = 1/2u

Container B = 2 u x 2 = 4 u

Container C = 3 u – 50

Container D = 4 u + 40

Total sweets = 1.4u + 4u + 3u – 50 +4u +40 = 11.5u – 10

a) Ratio of no of sweets in A to B will be 1.2u : 4u ==> 1 : 8

11.5u -10 = 450

11.5u = 460

1u = 40

10u = 40 x 10 = 400

b) no of sweets in total at the end is 400.
