Mrs liew had 50 candies and chocolates altogether.  If she exchange every chocolate for 3 candies, she would have a total of 104 candies. How many chocolates did she has at first?

Answer

Method 1 :
104 – 50 = 54 (candies exchanged for chocolates)
54/(3 – 1) = 27

Method 2 :
candles : chocolates : total
104 : 0 : 104
101 : 1 : 102
98 : 2 : 100

23 : 27 : 50

Ans : 27 chocolates.

50 x 3 = 150

150 – 104 = 46

3 – 1 = 2

46 /2 = 23 candies

50 – 23 = 27 chocolates
