Question

There were half as many children as adults in a room. 22 children came in and 22 adults left. Now there are 8 / 5 as many children as adults. How many people were in the room in the beginning?

Answer

children :
1u + 22 ——-> 8p
5u + 110 ——-> 40p

adults :
2u – 22 ——-> 5p
16u – 176 ——-> 40p

16u – 176 = 5u + 110
1u = 286/11 = 26
1u + 2u = 3u = 3 x 26 = 78

Ans : 78 people.

c -> 1u x 13 = 13u

a-> 2u x 13 = 26u

c-> 8u x 3 = 24u

a->5u x 3 = 15u

24u – 13u = 26u – 15u = 11u = 22

1u = 22/11 = 2

39u = 39 x 2 = 78
