Answer

Ken and Joe have $28 altogether. Ken has $10 more than Joe. How much money does Joe have?

Ken : 1 unit + $10

Joe : 1 unit

1 unit + 1 unit + $10 = $28

2 units = $28 – $10 = $18

1 unit = $28/2 = $9

Ans : $9.

Use a comparison model meaning each bar representative of one person.

28 – 10 = 18 (After removing the difference of 10, 18 is the total amount of both of them if Ken has the same amount as Joe.)

18÷2= 9

Ans:$9
