Question

  1. There are 319 red, green and blue balls in a bag. 50% of the red balls,  25 of the green balls and 20% of the blue balls are equal in number.
  2. a) How many blue balls are there in the bag?
  3. b) How many more blue balls than red balls are there?
  4. c) What fraction of the balls are green?

Answer

(a)
50% red = 25 green = 20% blue
25 x (100%/20%) = 125 (blue)

(b)
25 x (100%/50%) = 50 (red)
125 – 50 = 75

(c)
319 – 50 – 125 = 144 (green)
144/319 of the balls are green

Ans : (a) 125 blue balls; (b) 75 more blue balls and (c) 144/319.
