When height in both tanks is same, volume of water in B must be thrice the volume in A. 

So ratio of volume of water in A and B

When height of water in B is twice the height of water in A, volume of water must be 6 times more than A. So ratio of  water volume in A and B will become  1 : 6

Difference in volume for A = 14U Р8U = 6U. 

6U = 1200, 1u = 200. 

a) Water in B = 42U = 42 x 200 = 8400 cm3

b) Volume of water in A = 14u = 14 x 200 = 2800. 

2800 + 8400 = 11200

11200  / 140 = 80cm2
