Question

Answer

Zul, whose racket broke, still played in the tournament.

Thanks! Shouldn’t it be “whose rack was broken”?

Both are acceptable although I would prefer “broke” over “was broken” in this context.

I would generally use “was broken” with a “by” at the end.
